Goldfield Cemetery
is a collection of dusty and
decaying grave sites west
of a once-thriving mining
town. In the first years
of the 20th century it was
the largest city in Nevada.

A group of intrepid living
men known as "Official
Ghouls" unearthed the
remains of 70 previously
buried residents and moved
them here in 1908. Latter
deceased persons followed.

The former cemetery was
located near an elegant hotel
at the terminal of the Las
Vegas and Tonopah Railroad
Company.

Like the rich conglomerate
of earth that surrounds them,
the dead now inhabit an
immense and chaotic universe.

But what has become
of their fears and dreams?
